Hello, Elaine and I have been working till the wee hours of the morning digging for information and we've come up with some you might be interested in. If y'all want to dig for more information please let me know if you find something. I believe it's in working together and sharing information, that we're going to solve the mysteries all of us face. I think we've pretty well determined that all AILLS from LA, MS and TX all go back to the Kentucky Aills so if you're searching for records and information related to Kentucky you're searching for family. Anyway, here goes what we've found on Thomas Aills (son of William) and Ann Dyal. Ann was the d/o John A Dyal/Doyle and Christina Davis. They had 8 children, including Rebecca who married William E. Reed and Edward T. Doyle. Elaine had a note that Thomas and Nancy Ann Doyle were the parents of 4 children: Arrine (Alea) dob?, Nicholas Edward b 1836; Ruhannah b 1830 and an unknown son. She found this information by looking on Doyle sites. In the 1850 census of Brown, Hendricks, IN, Nicholas Ayles is living with Edward T. Doyle the brother of Ann Dyal. In the 1880 census of Boone, Jackson, IN, Nicholus Ailes is living with wife, Mary F and children, Thomas 17m, Donz Lou 13f, Samuel 11m and Roy 3m. In the 1900 census of Boone, Jackson, IN, Nickalas Ailes b 1836 is living with his wife Ananette? of 40 years and a 19 year old daughter. I can't read her name but it may be April. The wife is 59, Nickalas is 64. Both were born in Kentucky. I have not searched for any records of the children of Nicholas Ayles/Ailes. In the 1850 census of Lewis Co., the little 11 year old Ruhanna Aills is living in the home of Rebecca Reed, Ann Dyal's sister. Evidently Thomas and Ann Dyal Aills were dead by 1850 and their children were split up to live with Ann's siblings. If anyone searches for more information and finds any, please share it with me. We can make it a 'treasure hunt' if you have the time and inclination. Thanks, Sandra
