Dear Jinny, What a treasure indeed. I know it has to means a lot to you. What year was your grandmother born? Did you inherit any musical talent from them? One of my favorite treasures happens to be my great grandmother's (Mary Blanche Ailes Johnson's) cornbread pan.(cast iron skillet) Shortly before my grandmother Rubye died she gave it to my dad to give to me. I cherish it and use it all of the time. Unfortunately I don't have a musical bone in my body but I do like cornbread....... I love old classware and crocks. Walter calls them my dust catchers. Grandma Rubye gave me her old Fiesta Ware after my first child was born. I don't use it very often. I don't want to break any..... So I and look at it and think of her. I'm also a fool for old photos. I have accumalated quite a collection over the years. I have one of a little girl ca 1870-1880 sitting with her baby sister. The little girl is clutching a little kitten by the neck and the baby is playing with her her litle toes. It is so cute. They are both wearing little white dresses. I have another ca1880-1890 of a family standing in front of a well with a pump....... . No house in site but they look so proud of their pump. I don't have a clue as to who these people are. These are probably my favorites in my collection.
