(She ALWAYS is written Elizabeth R Goode, to distinguish her from her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Goode, both widows in the same town, both widows of Thomas Goode! Thomas the son is usually seen as Thomas J or Jones for the same reason.) They married on 30 Jun 1847 in Copiah Co, MS and had 5 known children: Sarah E, abt 1849, Mary C abt 1850, William J abt 1852, John M abt 1854-bef 1870, and Martha F abt 1856. Son James M Goode b 18 Feb 1820 MS - d 2 Jun 1897 Copiah Co married on 5 Dec 1839 in Copiah Co Mary Jane Mattingly. They had 4 known children: James N abt 1840 MS, Frances E b 8 Sep 1842 - d 12 Jul 1908 Copiah Co married on 8 mar 1861 Joseph William Broadwater b 18 feb 1837 - d 20 Jan 1916 Copiah Co. They are both buried in Bethesda Cemetery, Copiah Co, as are, unfortunately their three babies, none of whom lived longer than two months. Son Martin Wade Goode, the oldest surviving son, as the eldest, William, had died in 1852. Martin b abt 1812 MS married Cecile Ann b abt 1826 LA. (They had two children that I know of, but it is obvious, I don't have much on this family.) Children: Augustin W b abt 1847 Copiah Co anf Lydia E b 26 Dec 1849. Pa Thomas said he'd not appoint anybody other than what he said in his will, but expected the court to appoint capable family members to take care of the younger ones. On July 9, 1857, when Thomas Goode died, his children still at home? were Sarah b abt 1825, 32 years old (25 in 1850 census,) and Mary b abt 1832, 25 (18 in 1850 census,) which leaves NO known minor children. One of the older Goode girls, a Mrs. Haley and her husband filed for division of the estate June 1860 and it finally came about, but slowly . Daughter Elizabeth A Goode b 1 Jan 1814 Hazelhurst, Copiah Co - d 1 Nov 1881 married on 28 Mar 1833 in Hinds Co, MS William M Haley b 5 aug 1811 - d 13 Mar 1880. Both are buried in damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, Copiah Co. They had 9 known children: Lucretia, Warren L, Mary Emma, Thaddeus, Laura, Sarah E, James L, Sylvia, and William C.
