Saturday, July 29, 1843 Arkansas Intelligencer Van Buren, Crawford County,Arkansas VAN BUREN SEMINARY The Reverend Daniel McManus, assisted by Mr. Thomas McKenney, informs the public that he will commence the first quarter of an English and Classical School in the Van Buren Seminary on Tuesday, the first day of August. Scholars will be received by the quarter, two quarters to constitute a session, and each session to last 22 weeks. Students will be readily taught all the branches necessary to enter any college in the United States. Strict discipline will be required and the teacher will reserve to himself the right of expelling scholars for improper conduct, furnishing the cause of expulsion to parents or guardians. TERMS Higher branches, including Greek and Latin per quarter $8.00 English, Grammar, Geography, Arithmetic, Bookeepping and Defining $ 5.00 Spelling, Reading, Writing, and other primary lessons $4.00 N.B.
