April 4, 1903 Van Buren Press Van Buren, Crawford County, AR Ed Miller, colored, was arrested yesterday afternoon on a charge of seduction, preferred by Lizzie Hughes, of Van Buren.He did not like the looks of the jail and asked Constable McAuley, who arrested him to act as a matrimonial agent. The girl was willing and Justice Edmondson performed the ceremony and gave Miller some advice on how he should behave if he wanted to escape the punishment of the charge that had been preferred against him.
