    1. [AGS] A Genie(olgist) in a Bottle...
    2. Good Friday evening all, well, ask and ye shall receive. This morning I received a message from a Genie from the AGS mailing list regarding my William H (AKA W.H.) Green. The following message: I've been reading your e-mails about your search. A William H. Green entered land from the government in present Lincoln County 1 October 1860. Lincoln County wasn't formed until 1871. Since the actual land entry was normally two or more years after actual arrival, this could match with your 1857 date. This was the west half of the northwest quarter of section 15, township 9 south of range 7 west. This land was located about 1.5 miles southeast of present Star City. In 1860, this land could have been in the northern part of Drew County or the extrema southeast part of Jefferson County. He could have been in either Census. I have found several names in the actual census that weren't in Ancestry.com I did a Rootsweb Land Search, and found this information to be true. What if this is my man?!?! I looked at the 1860 Slave Census Schedule CD for a W.H. Green in Drew and Jefferson County, couldn't find him. He most likely obtained his slaves after the census was taken, the in 1870 of course, there were no slaves census. Now...does anyone have any idea as to where this land could have been located in 1860? I thank all you wonderful Genie's........ God Bless, Dena Jordan
