A Certificate (it doesn't state land deed) reads: Whereas William H. Green of Drew County Arkansas has deposited in the GENERAL LAND OFFICE of the United States, a Certificate of the REGISTER OF THE LAND OFFICE at Little Rock, whereby, etc., etc., etc. description of land: the West-half of the Northwest quarter of Section fifteen in Township nine South of Range seven West in the District of Lands subject to sale at Little Rock Arkansas containing Eighty acres. What township would this land had been in 1860? The Certificate is dated October 1, 1860. Mr. William H. Green is not listed on the 1860 Drew County, Arkansas census, nor, is he listed on the 1870 Drew County Census, but he did own slaves in 1866.....He's lost between 1860-70, if I had the name of the township where this land was/is located, that would be a great help/start. Thanks All, Happy Sunday! Dena Jordan. ==== AGS Mailing List ==== Please do not forward or cross post messages to this list or from this list without the permission of the original author.
