    3. Dena: The more important question is what is the legal description of the land. In other words what is its section, township, and range. Unfortunately, the courthouse for Clay County burned in the 1880s. Most if not all records were destroyed. His name does not appear in the original land entry records for Clay County. He was a black man who lived in Clay Township, Bradley County, Arkansas. On the 1870 census, it has him as owning $100 worth of land, he lived between C.C. Childs who owned a lot of land and Mike Green, who was a farm labor, and owned none. Any guidance would be appreciated.
