He married (1) RHODA BLOYD January 23, 1809 in Green Co., KY, daughter of JOHN BLOYD and MARY RIGGINS. She was born Bet. 1787 - 1790 in Rockingham Co., NC or Green Co., KY, and died Bef. 1830 in Indiana ?. He married (2) MATILDA JANE PERRY June 09, 1831 in Warrick Co., Indiana. She was born 1818 in Indiana?, and died Aft. 1883 in AR?. Notes for JESSE (BYOUS) BIAS: Found on Green Co, KY Abstracts of Deed Bk 5 & 6. Jesse was found on the 1810 Barren Co., KY census....JESSEE BYAS I asked for a lookup on the Indiana mailing list and Robert Gatchel (jgatchelcomtek.com) found him on the 1830 Federal Population census in Spencer Co., IN., Pg 304. Per note in John Armstrong Bias' handwriting, Jesse came to the Peter Morris Place in 1836 with Hiram, Armstrong, Jesse, Jr. and half-siblings William and Polly. The note stated they came from Wabash Co., INDIANA, but researchers doing work on this line for 40 years compared notes and agree that it was WABASH CO., ILLINOIS as it is next to Gibson Co., IN which is near Spencer Co., IN where he was found on the 1830 census. Turnbo's Tales states Jesse was "the first settler on Shoal Creek". Location was Shoal Creek, the Jess Bias Place a mile and a half from Pro-tem. Afterwards knows as the Owens Place. Per info in documents by Wm. Yates, "Jess BIAS came to Big Creek in the early 1830's and lived some time in a tent and hunted and killed the fat bucks." per Turnbo's Tales. The TABORS were the next settlers there. The GREEN family helped them as wel.
