    3. The best source for questions about AR townships is the Arkansas Township Atlas published by the Arkansas Genealogical Society. Polk Township became Keaton Township about 1875. It is located east of Almyra. Bayou Meto Township became Muarice Township and was later divided into Stanley, Brewer, and Garland Townships. It is on the AR River southwest of DeWitt. Russell P. Both are listed as Arkansas County in the census of 1850 & 1860. A map would be superb. I found a Bayou Meto Township just south of Lonoke but it isn't in Arkansas County. Did the County line move significantly? Thanks for any assistance. Shirley Erickson ==== AGS Mailing List ==== The Arkansas History Commission has updated their website. www.ark-ives.com
