The best source for questions about AR townships is the Arkansas Township Atlas published by the Arkansas Genealogical Society. Polk Township became Keaton Township about 1875. It is located east of Almyra. Bayou Meto Township became Muarice Township and was later divided into Stanley, Brewer, and Garland Townships. It is on the AR River southwest of DeWitt. Russell P.
