As long as the body is on the east side of the stone, and the headstone, in reference to the body, is on the west, I would think which way the headstone is facing would not matter. There has to be some uniformity or one would not know where to walk, as far as I know, it has been this way. I was taught to show respect in a cemtery, and DO NOT WALK ON THE GRAVES!
