    3. Arkansas Gazette, December 17, 1915: Fort Smith, Dec. 16 - Miss Adeline Ish, aged 90, a pioneer resident of Washington county, died at her home at Morrow yesterday in her ninetieth year. She was a member of a colonial family that settled in Pennsylvania and later moved to what is now Tennessee. Her grandfather was killed by Indians within sight of the blockhouse at Knoxville. He had served in the American army under General Sevier. Miss Ish's father served two enlistments in the War of 1812, and after being mustered out of the service he removed to Arkansas before this state was admitted to the Union. Miss Ish died on the homestead he founded. Miss Ish labored several years as a missionary among the Indians at Asbury Mission, which was located where the present town of Eufaula, Okla., now stands. She leaves a sister, Mrs. S. J. Parke of this city, and a brother, W. W. Ish of Red Oak, Okla. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
