Stuttgart, Aug. 26 - The firing of a field gun, loaded by Confederate soldiers in 1862 and spiked by Federals, was a feature of the annual reunion at Camp Fagan, in the southern part of Arkansas county, this week. After that charge the cannon was fired daily during the reunion, which was attended by a large crowd. The cannon was part of the defenses of a small fort on the site of which Camp Fagan is now located. The Federals attacked and drove the Confederates off. The gun has remained there ever since. Two other cannon, one a brass piece, were thrown in a boyou nearby and have never been recovered. _________________________________________________________________ Surf the Web without missing calls!
