Can anyone please recommend where I might find birth information, or any information at all, on my grandfather and his parents who lived in Fayetteville for only a year or two, just in time for him to be born while his dad taught at the university? He was born on 27 May 1890. I have his Soc Sec application and a death certificate that back this up, but the state says it has no birth record that far back. His name was George Harris Collingwood and his parents were Charles B. and Harriet (Thomas) Collingwood. I believe Charles was a professor of chemistry. I don't know where they lived in Fayetteville (or nearby) or for how long they were there, but I'm guessing only a couple years. They came from Michigan and then went to Arizona.
