Garfield is a small rural community in eastern Benton County, AR on highway 62 just east of Pea Ridge. Try to find out the date of his death and them try for an obit. from Benton County, AR newspapers. Under current AR law you can not get a death certificate for an uncle or aunt if they died after 1952. Look on the 1930 census for this family and obtain the names of wife, children, etc. Russell P. Also could anyone tell me the best way to try and find out anything about my uncle who died there (that is if I have got the correct guy according to the SSDI which listed him as dying in Garfield, Benton in 1967) His name was Joseph Ray born 1887. My second request, please can anyone tell me if there is a members list similar to this one to subscribe to for Las Animas/Pueblo (in Colorado I think) and also a list for Oklahoma where I might find something about my grandfather John Ray born 9 October 1889 who died in Oklahoma in 1966 (according to the SSDI). I would very much appreciate this. from [email protected] in county durham, england ==== AGS Mailing List ==== ARKANSAS GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY 2002 FALL SEMINAR and BOOK FAIR Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, 2002 Holiday Inn Airport-East, Little Rock, Arkansas I-440, Exit 3 (Airport Exit) For details see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~args/
