January 4, 1916: Fayetteville, Jan. 3 - Funeral services for I. W. Nettleship, aged 71, of Purdy, Mo., were held at the Central Presbyterian church here Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. M. L. Gillespie. The body of Miss Florence Payne, 19 years old, who died Sunday at a local hospital, was sent yesterday morning by P. H. Ruebel & Co. to Bee Branch for burial. The body of Dee Conder, 26 years old, who died at a local hospital Sunday afternoon is being held at the parlors of P. H. Ruebel & Co., awaiting the arrival of his wife from Hoxie. She is expected this morning. Fayetteville, Jan 3 - Funeral services for J. C. Purdy were held this afternoon at St. Paul's Episcopal church, the body having arrived on the 1 o'clock train from Balanton, Miss., where death occurred Saturday from la grippe. Mr. Purdy was a resident of Fayetteville for 32 years. Ozark, Jan 3 - Larkin Nichols, aged 77, died at his home, six miles north of this place, yesterday morning. Prescott, Jan 3 - Mrs. Luther N. Westmoreland, wife of the county cotton weigher, died at her home here Sunday.
