Mayfield, aged 68, pioneer of Union county and father of Dr. A.M. Mayfield, local physician, died Wednesday. Mr. Mayfield was born in Union county June 27, 1858, and spent the greater part of his life in this section. He moved to Monett, Ark., a few years ago, where he lived on his farm until recently, when he returned to live with his son. In addition to Dr. Mayfield, he is survived by his wife, and two other sons, E.W. and J.M. Mayfield, both of Monett. Arkansas Gazette March 19, 1927
