Havens of the death of her mother, Mrs. Mattie Arthur in Oklahoma City Sunday. Mrs.Arthur was the widow of the late B.A. Arhtur and came to Arkansas shortly after her marriage. She was born in Gaylesville, AL. in 1860 and died at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Billie and Martha Ann Davenport. Mrs Arthur lived in Conway and the Pleasant Valley community a number of years and is well known there. Her death was caused by a stroke and complications of old age. She was a member of the First Christian church of Oklahoma City, where she lived with a daughter, Mrs. Gula Jobe. Mrs Arthur is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. W.E. Havens of the Pleasant Valley community, Mrs. W.M. Hiett of Amarillo, TX, and Mrs. A.L. Ray of Houston, TX and one son, Joe Arthur of Durant, OK.
