I just received my aunt's Social Security Card application. She lists herself as being born in 'Brooks, Jefferson County, Arkansas'. There is NO Brooks that I can find in present-day Jefferson County. There WAS a Brooks in Saline County and I found a few hits for Grant County. So, how do I know which place was the right place?
