Hi Fellow Listers: In the 1920 census, the Occupation column lists my ancestor as "OA" which I understand means "working on own account." My question is, what exactly does that description mean? Does it mean he was a sharecropper, or that he actually owned the farm that he labored on? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
