I am seeking information on AMOS D. MATTHEWS/MATHEWS. I have his records from the national archives stating that he that he was a private in Company F, 45th Arkansas Cavalry; but these records do not state when and where he enlisted. They say that this is all the records they have. I am sure that he was from Lawrence County, Arkansas. But how can I find an enlistment date? He was my great grandmother's brother. He died in an Illinois prison camp on Christmas Eve 1864. As far as I can tell, he never married or had any children. I sure will appreciate any help. Jo Bennett
