I am hoping that someone out there will recognize some of these names and help me locate information on a Licargus McElroy b. l850 in St.Francis county,Arkansas. His parents were John and Mary Stevenson McElroy that moved there in l848 from Ga. Licargus had siblings named Andrew J., Elizabeth, Margaret, James H., Robert P., Ann , Martha Jane and also 3 half brothers and one half sister named William B. McElroy , John C. McElroy, Darling B. McElroy and Paramelia Armintha McElroy. Licargus was the last to be born and in l859 his mother died and John then married a lady named Rachel McDuffy. Licargus is my husband's greatgrandfather and we need to know about his whereabouts from about l870 till his death which we are not positive up but likely before l895. Many of the siblings and families are buried in the McElroy community in Cross county . Some of the related surnames that this family married into are: Holt, Lantroupe, Wigley, Chadwick and other descendants named Brawner and Sadler still live in the Wynne area. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Need to find out who Licargus married and where his two known sons were born. They were William Gideon McElroy b. l876 and Levi I. McElroy b. l878 and we believe to both been born in Arkansas. They both married in Independence county,Ark and had families and lived there between about l897 and and l9l8 when they moved to Texas.
