Could someone tell me about Taxes back in the 1870s and 1880? I have found two microfilm records that are available for loan for St. Francis County - one "real estate tax record" and one "tax record". Does that mean that everyone paid taxes regardless of whether they owned land or not? Thanks, Joyce billh@wizards.net
