For all who are interested....Goodspeeds books are available for all states and most counties in existence in the 1870-80's...The books publisher sent representatives around to compile the short bios of the families in each county..Also, they put in a detailed history of most of the counties, with the movers and shakers of the communities getting a lot of good publicity in the books... The families who wanted to put their bios in the book had to pay a subscription price so a lot of the poorer families are not represented...Nopturally, anyone with a business, or who was active in politics would want to have a nice bio available for the world to see... I have two ancestors mentioned in Goodspeeds, in Tennessee and Kentucky, and both lied valiently about their importance....LOL... ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
