Howard Reed was born in TN. about 1826. Married Frances Billingsby in DeSoto MS. in 1847. Two of their children were born there. Jefferson William Reed was one of them. He also was known as William J. Reed. They moved to Arkansas and he married a Nancy Burgoyne. Her mothers name was Sarah from South Carolina. She married Lewis Burgoyne. I would like to know her Maiden name. Jefferson Reed died when my grandfather, Taylor Reed was a small boy. Taylor was born in 1883. The accidental death took place at Tucker's Sawmill near England Arkansas. I do not know where he was buried or the year." Woodsman of the World" was imprinted on Taylor's tombstone with 2 axes. I'd like to more about that as it must have meant something to him. Taylor Reed married my grandmother, Elzie(Elsie) Sinclair, daughter of Noah and Nellie Ward in 1919.
