Rose on the list suggested I do a look at Rootweb and I looked up just Burkhart and found a Burkhart(Harmon Bailey (POPPY) who was from Kentucky and went to Van Buren Arkansas.I knew my father had cousins in Arkansas and so I looked up Poppy's parents and their children and found my dear old Grandpa Burkhart> I am now looking for any relatives of this direct line ans will search further in Kentucky for the relatives there. James S. Burkharts children were George, Nancy Jane, Harmon Bailey (POPPY) and Leander by his first wife( Stacy Bailey )Then he married Elizabeth MCCARTY and the following children were born to them, Cordia, Neoma (OMA), Arizona(ZONA), Mary Katherine(KATE), Abigil (ABBIE), William Freances, Stacy, Walter Richard, and Burtha Susan. The first four children were born in Kentucky(Probably Harlan or Harlan county) and the rest were born in Arkansas (Van Buren I assume) I woul love to hear from any of these cousins or their children or their children.
