Can someone do a death index lookup for Matthew (Mathew) Horn (Horne) born 1826-1832 in TN? Found in AR census 1860 and 1870 near Evening Shade P.O., Piney Forks and Franklin Twsp. in Lawrence-Sharp Co. I do not know when he died. I cannot find him in the 1880 census, so it may have been before then. Or he may have gone to the Indian Territory where some of his children are found in Spiro, LeFlore Co., OK in 1900 census. He married Rebecca Carpenter nee Clements in 1865 in Lawrence Co., OK. Thank you so much, Iris Horne
The Arkansas History Commission and State Archives has added the following Washington County records to its collections. There records may be used here in our Research Room. They are also available at the Washington County Archives, Old Court House, Fayetteville, AR. Washington County School Census Records 1928 - 1978, 84 rolls of 16 mm microfilm. The students are listed by date and then by school district. These records usually give the birth date of the student, plus the name of a parent. There is also one roll listing the students attending the Fayetteville Public Schools 1918 - 1919. Only the name, sex, and age of the student is given. This roll is very hard to read. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Russell P. Can someone check in the Arkansas Death Indexes for the name Anne Kizza McClane. She was supposed to have died on 22 Jul 1922 in Kirby, Pike Co., AR. I am trying to find some kind of record for this family after 1910, but they have disappeared. Could someone also do a Cemetery lookup for that name. I would really appreciate it. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=____1083721562805_yVvy99om32 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I am responding to a genealogical question on a Arkansas Genealogy Message Board of a few days ago. I understand that you are searching for McClain family (I may have spelling of your McClain in error) in Pike and/or Howard County, Arkansas. Back in the late 70's or early 80's I worked with an McClain lady, but do not know where she lives now. You probably could get some help from the Pike County Archives and History Society by going to pcahs@iocc.com for their email service. They just might put your query in their periodical. If you get no response soon, send me another message and I will give you some email addresses of those who help get the Pike County History publication to the society members. Good luck. It appears my great grandmother Kathrine Ann Nelson may have been called Cassie. My grandmother Birdie Mae Goin Sorrels listed her parents as John James Goin and Kathrine Ann Nelson on her application for SS number. Grandma Birdie was born in 1886 in DesArc (Prairie County) Arkansas. I have found on a census in Prairie County, a listing for Cassie Nelson married to J J Goin in February 1896, which is the month and year of my grandmas birth. This census also lists "E.J. " as Cassie Nelsons mother. Cassie apparently married again to W.B.Marwill in 1891. There was never mention by my grandmother of what happened to her mother. Only that her Father died, left her an orphan, and she was raised by her Uncle until her marriage at 13. My grandmother Birdie Goin was raised by her uncle Bob Nelson, whom I have found as Robert Nelson on a Prairie County census as born in 1874, married to Lucy, also born in 1874. They are both listed as being black. My grandma told the story of being part Indian. If anyone has any connection to the above people, I would be very interested and can share some documents and photos. Please contact me since I have been searching for my great grandma for many years and want to know who she is and who my cousins are. Cyrille I've looked in 1870 ARkansas for Harriet Mathews (Matthews), she would be about 6 years of age -- nothing. My next clue is to find David Prior, maybe he's a relation of some sort! I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have finally found out who my greatgrandparents are and I do not know how to find out if they had siblings, who thier parents are, etc. My great grandparents are Frances Montgomery Wyatt and William Wyatt. Frances later remarried to John Cheshier who was my grandfather's step dad. I do not know where to turn. Francis and William married in 1895. My grandfather James Wyatt was born in 1897. Frances married John in 1901. The marriages happened in Jackson County - most of my stuff has happened here. But James was born in Independence County. I am so confused on what to check, etc. Can anyone help me? Thanks Jennifer Wyatt Sides

Hello List, This is Mike Stanley again. I wanted to thank everyone that helped with my last query. With all of the responses that I received, I was able to make some good headway on my Hamilton Research. I have another request for you. I am trying to find a Louis D. McClane. He was born 22 May 1865 in Tennessee. He married Anne K. May 4 Aug 1888 in Tennessee. Anne was born 14 Dec 1871 in Sumner Co., Tennessee. As near as I can tell, they didn't get into Arkansas until about 1906. Their last couple of children were born in the Pike and Howard Co., Arkansas areas. Anne is believed to have died in Kirby, Pike Co., AR on 22 Jul 1922. I am trying to find out anything that I can about this family. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mike Stanley Searchin4familys@wmconnect.com
