    1. [AGS] Census
    2. Hello: If anyone has access to the actual census records-not just the index-for either 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 for Jackson County, Arkansas, please look for my grandfather and his family. His name was John Anner Cunningham. John Anner or J. A. Cunningham who, according to his Sand Springs/Tulsa obituary in 1934 was born in or near Newport in Jackson County, Arkansas on December 23, 1859. Where he was born in Jackson County may later have become a part of Woodruff County. It is believed that he lived in Arkansas until 1881 when he moved to Oklahoma. He had one brother, George Washington or G. W. Cunningham and a sister whose name may have been Fannie or Alice. His father's name may have been Ben and his mother's name may have been Kate. I have been trying to get a line on John for over 35 years without success. John, George, and Fannie may have been orphans after the Civil War. The father of John, George and Fannie Cunningham may have been one of the following men in Jackson County: 1850 Census-David-Jefferson Township; 1860 Census-James-Bay Township; 1860 Census-P-Jefferson Township; 1870 Census-James H. - Buckinridge or Breckinridge Township; 1870 Census-H Jacksonport Township; 1870 Census-Josiah-Village Township. Any assistance you can give me will be appreciated. Bruce Cunningham

Trying to locate information on my ggrandfather, supposedly by the name of Ed/Edmon/Edmond or Edward BRESHEARS, who was in the areas of Garland and Montgomery County, specifically around Avant, Buckville or Story between August 1902-March 1905. He supposedly married a Julia Minton, but no record has been found of their marriage and Julia married a David Robertson, in Garland County in 1905, of which we have a record, thanks to Sharon Minton Hill and her continued help. Not sure if Julia was divorced from or widowed by BRESHEARS. Thanks for any help. Eva Breshears larev@uswest.net

I did see him once at the Cornish Funeral Home. He was buried a few years ago. You can probably find more details by contacting the Nevada County Museum in Prescott. The man was affectionately named Old Mike. Sue Lambert

    3. Hi About the man who died in Arkansas. I had heard this story while living in Arkansas as a child. So a couple of years ago while my husband and I were visiting relatives in No. Little Rock, I had my mother tell me the story again. This is a true story, the funeral home did bury the man. It was the funeral home in Prescott, Ar. I went in the funeral home and asked to see the man and they told me they had buried him several years ago. He was still unclaimed. To the best of their knowledge he was an African-American. If you call the funeral home they will tell you the story. Sorry I don't remember the name, but it shouldn't be to hard to find, it's probably the only one in Prescott.
