Hi listers, Would anyone be able to do a Nevada county marriage look-up for me please. Ernest Lee Chamlee married possibly Maudie Martin in the years 1922-1926. Looking for the correct name of his wife and date of marriage and where (I am assuming Nevada county). She would be my grandfather's birth mom. I am assuming they divorced after 1927 ( the year grandfather was born). Ernest married Dessie Thompson-don't know the date or place of this marriage either (I am assuming Nevada county). I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you. Angela

Could someone tell me about Taxes back in the 1870s and 1880? I have found two microfilm records that are available for loan for St. Francis County - one "real estate tax record" and one "tax record". Does that mean that everyone paid taxes regardless of whether they owned land or not? Thanks, Joyce billh@wizards.net
Dear List Readers, I would like to say "thank you" for all the helpful suggestions you sent me. I have new hope now in obtaining the Masonic Records of my father, Alvin O. LAWSON. I really do appreciate all of you and your thoughtfulness. Joyce billh@wizards.net

Re: Message #7 The name Narsis May Stubbs b. 1897 in this message is the only other time I have ever seen the name "Narcisse/Narsis/Narcis". My great aunt Narcisse Kirksey was born 5 Nov 1888 died 20 Sept 1984, so perhaps this was a name used during this period. My Narcisse Kirksey was the youngest of 5 children born to my great grandfather Michael Kirksey b. 18 Aug 1844 d. 26 Dec 1888 and my great grandmother Mary Ann McGregor Crow Kirksey b. 24 Dec 1844 d. 26 Aug 1918. This family lived in Sevier County and the parents are buried in Old Piney Cemetery, Sevier County, AR. The rest of the family relocated to Oklahoma circa 1922. The only information I have about my great grandparents, the parents of Narcisse Kirksey, is a tape recording made prior to her death in 1984.
Hi Listers: Does anyone have access to a Washington County death index? I am searching for Noel C. CHAMLEE. He died in Fayetteville in July 1975. I am searching for the day and cemetery. Also, does anyone know where I can look for his obituary? Thanks for the help. Angela
I am looking for information on the William and Ruth Hawkins family who are from Hampton. They lived across from New Hope Assembly of God and cemetary. He was nicknamed "Buck" and was killed in an oilfield accident. They had sons, Kenneth, Murphy, Keith, and daughters Helen and Dorothy. Helen Ritchie still lives in the area. Thank you.
Hi Folks! I must apologize for not participating as often as I would like, but I have a more important concern right at the moment. My wonderful husband ,Harold has suddenly developed double vision, I took him to the Dr this afternoon and he is sending him for a Cat scan and then to a specialist tomorrow. Pray that everything will be fine. But I am watching the list, so please keep up the good work, you all are doing great. I appreciate all the letters of encouragement I have received from the Georgia list. And of course the AGS list is a fine group of people that I have enjoyed getting to know the past year. So have fun! And I will do my best to keep the lists running smoothly. God Bless Jan Davenport List Manager
Looking for information on the Hamilton Family in Camden Arkansas in the mid-1800s. My Great-great-grandfather, Edward Wilkinson HAMILTON is buried in Camden (I think). His son, my great-grandfather Archibald HAMILTON (d July 1917) is buried in the Greenwood cemetery alongside his wife, Kate Whitfiled with two other HAMILTONS I haven't found a spot for in my files (I think they are children that did not survuve to adulthood) I am looking on the location of Edward HAMILTON's Burial and any information at all on him..... He was a physician in Camden right up until his death in 1855. I have a copy of his obit from the Camden News. Please contact me if you have any information to exchange, and we can trade family lines! Thanks in advance for your help. Christie Hamilton Verdonik
Bill, Re: Records at the various Masonic Lodges. Since the Lodge meets only once monthly, it possible that your request has only just been reviewed. After the meeting the Secretary would have had to dig into the records to see if anything is still abailable. I do not know how long the Grand Lodge of each state requires the local lodges to retain the records, but I know that the lodges are very aware that their records are of genealogical value. In my case my GreatGrandfather and several GreatUncles were charter members in a small lodge and AR. I have been able to get copies of the various papers on file and have a better feel for the other males in this small town as nearly everyone became a member at some point. Be patient, but if you don't receive an answer before too much longer, I would write to the Grand Lodge for the state in which you are searching and ask for their help. Hal in FL
Looking for Ron McKuin. Phyllis
Does anyone know if records exist (and how to obtain them) for the Oddfellows Lodge in Arkansas especially in Jackson county and the surrounding counties from 1850 to 1890? Thanks, Bruce
Hello Listmembers-- I have two questions. First question. Does anyone know if there is a marriage index for Yell county (Dardanelle) approximate years 1928 to 1930? I am looking for 2 girls, Ira(?) and Hazel Grant. I don't know who they married or when. I want to know that when I go to Dardanelle and start looking that I WILL have to look page by page through the marriage books. (I called the courthouse and they told me they were indexed by groom only.) Next question. Is there anyone that can do obit lookups? I would like one on Wayne A Grant died Nov 27, 1941 in Pulaski County. He was living in Big Rock Township. Where is that? Faulkner Lake, Rose City area? Please advise me on these things. ____________________________ Colorado Springs, Colorado reply to henson@rmi.net web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.
