    1. [AGS] Need Parents/Siblings of Pleasant P. Henderson/Sarah Nixon(?)
    2. Dixie
    3. I don't have the info you need, but will try to find out if I'm related to your Pleasant P. from a Henderson relative of mine. I visited the Cadron Valley Cemetery last year looking for another branch of my family and made notes of the Hendersons buried there, among them Pleasant P. Henderson. This is the info I copied from the headstones: Pleasant P. Henderson, died March 5, 1878. Wife Susan M. Hoggard, died Feb. 2, 1878. Wife Sarah (no last name), died June 20, 1870. The headstone for J.J. Henderson must be your great-grandfather, James Jackson. My branch of Hendersons settled in the Blackfork community north of Cadron Valley. My great-grandfather was George Daniel Henderson (1880-1963), son of Thomas Franklin Henderson (1854 -1900). Thomas was born in Cherokee Co., Ala., and was in Ark. in 1870. Thomas' father was John G. Henderson, born 1812 in Tenn. and died in 1884. There's probably some sort of connection and I'll try to track it down. <Pleasant P. Henderson was born circa 1836 in SC. He married Sarah (Nixon we think) circa 1855-1857. We think she was from AL. They had 5 children: James Jackson "Jim" b. 05/31/1858 - d. 08/07/1942 (MY ggrandfather) Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" b. 1862 - d. 1893 J. Louisa "Lou" b. 1864 - d. ? John P. "Pinkie" b. 09/04/1866 - d. 02/14/1904 William T. "Willie" b. 12/25/1869 - d. 02/28/1893 Sarah died 06/20/1870 and Pleasant married Susan Hoggard on 09/01/1870. They had 2 children: Mary Margaret "Maggie" b. 10/17/1871 - d. 08/20/1903 Thomas P. "Tom" b. ? - d. ? Susan died 02/02/1878. Pleasant died 03/05/1878 and is buried in Cadron Valley Cemetery in Faulkner County along with his wives and many of his descendants. Is anyone else out there related to this family? It is possible he came to AR through MS or TN but we haven't found a connection in either state. We think he had at least two brothers and one sister, but we aren't sure, as we have no names to follow. Thanks for any help at all!>

    1. [AGS] Need help locating a family by the name of Mole and one by the name of Wool
    2. I have checked everywhere I know to check trying to get some little clue of what happened to these two families. M. Mole born 1880 Miss, married Annie born 1883 Ark. married about 1909, not sure where. They lived in Desha Co. during the 1910 census on a farm, in Henrico.ARk. Annie may have been married prior to her marriage to M. Mole. The other family I am trying to locate was John Wool, born 1878 Ind., his brothers, Charley, born 1881 Ark, and Jacob or Jake born 1892 Ark. John was married to Mary Beard, she died, but I do not know when. According to the 1920 census, John moved to Bolivar Miss. Whatever happened to his brothers is a real mystery. Annie was John's sister, according to the 1910 census she and M. Mole lived in Desh Co. on a farm next door to her brohter John and his wife Mary. Please if you know of anyone who might be kin to these people contact me. I have tried and tried to find where they vanished. Thank you Mary Ann Wiseman

    2. Jo Anna Dale
    3. Dear Friends. I'm trying to locate a Louisa E. McFADDEN, who married Charles Warren BOYD on 3 November 1886 in Adamsville, Bradley County, Arkansas. The only information I have is a date of birth of May 1864, although the 1920 census of Drew County, Arkansas, gives her age as 44 (1876). I don't know where she was born - I don't even have a county to work with. The census indicates she was born in Arkansas. Charles and Louisa had eleven children. Louisa is said to have died 11 March 1926 in Roswell, New Mexico. Any information about the McFadden Family will be appreciated. Thank you for your help. Jo Anna Dale <jdale@swbell.net>

    1. [AGS] Death Record Look Up - Crutchfield & Stubbs
    2. R Kemp
    3. Would someone do a look up in the Death Index for me? Jerusha Jane Elvadine Crutchfield died in September 1924 in Grant County, Arkansas. I thought for sure she'd be in the death records because of how far past 1914 she is, but they said that they couldn't find her records. Mollie Stubbs died in June 1914 in Grant County, Arkansas. They can't find her records either. If someone would double check, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance! Rebecca P.S. I now have a death certificate for Jerusha Jane Elvadine's husband, Mathew R. Crutchfield. If anyone would like that information (or thinks I should post it to the list) let me know and I'll send it to you. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

    1. [AGS] Re: Mortality Schedule - PLUS...
    2. I would very much appreciate a lookup on FRANK ANDERSON and NANCY JANE PATRICK ANDERSON, near Combs, Ark.; also her parents, BILL and NANCY JANE PATRICK, buried near Hulbert (lost city), Ark. Frank and Nancy were my great great grandparents. Frank and Nancy's son, ELISHA ANDERSON, married EFFIE BELLE COOPER and their son, OMER DELL (BUD) ANDERSON was my grandfather, born in 1909 near Peggs, Oklahoma. I have no other information on Frank and Nancy. Elisha and Effie are buried in the Gideon Cemetery, north of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, although I do not know when they may have moved to Oklahoma from Arkansas. This has been the hardest (my maiden name) of all of my lines to research. I have been able to trace all of my surnames back to at least early 1800's, two of them to 1600's. I desperately need a date and location to begin with. Again, I am desperate and would very much appreciate any information from anyone! Dena (drl5555@aol.com)

Then, in the very next sentence I demonstrated why one should read CAREFULLY! The offending sentence states "The proposed fees are intended to cover the actual cost of locating, copying and mailing the records, plus 10% as authorized by law...." This is not correct. The proposed fees are intended to cover full costs, but NOT an additional 10%. I misread a portion of the NARA proposal wherein the 10% additional charge is clearly stated to apply to publications of "special works and collections of resources" and to releases of "historical photographic materials and sound recordings." Let me make it completely clear: NARA is not proposing to include a 10% "profit" in the fees. Now that I have so cleverly demonstrated why it is important to read the full release carefully, I must also plead guilty to having hit the Send button before adding a signature line to the message! Some days are just like that! Oh! And if you forwarded the original message to anyone, please do the same with this. Public comment is invited and should be directed to NARA Regulation Comment Desk 8601 Adelphi Road College Park, MD 20740-6001 Fax: 301 713-7270 The comment period closes on 26 June 2000. NARA prefers that you use either the postal address or fax number to submit our comments rather than e-mail A complete copy of the Federal Register notice is available from the NARA Web site at http://www.nara.gov/nara/fees-pro.html. The proposed Reproduction Fee Schedule covers a number of items, but the the Military Service Records, and the Pension and Bounty-Land Warrants are of the greatest concern to genealogists. NARA proposes three major changes: 1. The NATF Form 80 would be discontinued, to be replaced by two new forms: NATF Form 85 to request both Bounty-Land Warrant application files and Pension files (more than 75 years old), and NATF From 86 to request Military Service Records (more than 75 years old). 2. For all three types of files, NARA would no longer send a selection of pages, but would send the complete file. This would eliminate the two-step process currently used and should be beneficial to most genealogists. 3. The fees for all three types of files would be raised. For Military Service Records the new fee would be $17.00, regardless of the number of pages included in the file. For Bounty-land Warrants the fee would be $17.25, again without regard to the number of pages. For Pension Files the fee would be $40.00, regardless of the number of pages. Finally, the proposal would go into effect on 1 September 2000, if approved. Many genealogists may consider the proposed fees to be excessive. NARA specifically invites comment on the proposed fee schedule. The FGS/NGS Records Preservation and Access Committee urges everyone who wants to comment to carefully read the full proposal before submitting comments. The proposed fees are intended to cover the actual cost of locating, copying and mailing the records, plus 10% as authorized by law, and are based on the average size of the files. NARA states that the average for Military Service Records and Bounty-land Applications is somewhere under 20 pages, while the average for full Pension Files is 105 pages. The FGS/NGS Records Preservation and Access Committee will be looking at the NARA proposal carefully, and will submit comments as appropriate. Individuals who would like to provide input to the Committee's evaluation are welcome to do so but are also encouraged to comment direct to NARA at the address given above. Comments for Committee consideration should be e-mailed to fgs-access@fgs.org, or mailed to Federation of Genealogical Societies, Attention: RPAC, PO Box 200940, Austin, TX 78720-0940. In order for the Records Preservation and Access Committee to adequately evaluate such input it must be received by 26 May 2000. The deadline for comment to NARA, however, is still 26 June 2000. Posting of this message to other mail lists is encouraged. A copy of this message will also be available on the Records Preservation and Access page of the FGS Web site <http://www.fgs.org/fgs-recordsnews.htm> and on the NGS Web site <http://www.ngsgenealogy.org> --part1_a2.39614b1.26398eca_boundary--
