Hi folks, I have ran into a brick wall looking for the marriage of my grandparents: Lula Bell Mchan/Mchand and Claud Guy Wiltshire. I have covered every County in MS.....where they lived in 1917......my only hope they were married in AR(maybe Drew Co.) where they eventually settled and lived until his death 1923 and her death 1979. Is there anyone out there that does marriage lookups? My grandmother remarried after grandfather's death to an EZRA BOSTAIN, they were married in Monticello, AR probable date of marriage 1925-1926. Can anyone help me with information on my family history of my grandmother Lula Francis Jones, first marriage: Leonard A. Young, second marriage: Dr. Frank Wilson,DDS. Lula Francis Jones had a sister names Iva Jones , both girls were from Plummerville, Ark. and lived during their lives in Conway, Pope & Yell Counties. Lula Francis Jones had two sons, Leonard M. and Bruce K. Young and one daughter stillborn by Leonard A. Young. Then was widowed at young age and married Dr. Frank Wilson, DDS. of Russellville, Ark. Leonard A. Young worked for the railroad. Iva Jones married Cecil Parks and had one daughter Patrica Parks and lived in Russellville, Ark. Cecil Parks worked for the city of Russellville (at least that was what I was told). The daughter Pat Parks (last married name was Hensen) graduated from the highschool there in Russellville. She had two boys, Danny Hensen died with cancer at age of 12 and Casey Hensen was still living the last I heard. Both boys went to the Catholic School. Hi List members, I am still trying to located information on my great grandmothers brothers, Walter and Henry. The last account I have of Walter is in Lawrence at age 21. Cannot located Henry after he was married or Walter either. I noticed that a Walter Custer shows in Clay county in 1910 or 1911 in a newspaper article that I have not read due to the fact that I cannot find out how to obtain a copy. Is anyone researching the Custer surname or does anyone have either Walter or Henry in the family names ? We have been searching for information on my great grandmother to learn more about her. Unfortunately she was born in 1880 and does not show up for that year in the census and the 1890 was burned. I am hoping to located some living relatives of Walters or Henrys to get in touch with them. If anyone can suggest or help in anyway it would be very much appreciated. Thanks to everyone Linda in CA

The lists of names of coal miners in Sebastian County was compiled by the South Sebastian County Historical Society for a monument honoring the miners to be be place in a new park. Corrections or additions to the list may be sent to the Society at P. O. Box 534, Greenwood, AR 72936, but must arrive by May 26, 2000. Donations for the developing of the park or for the monument may also be sent to the Society and are tax deductible. The information listed on the form for the memorial are name, mines worked, killed in mines, died of black lung, name of submitter and phone number. The list appeared in the GREENWOOD DEMOCRAT on May 3 and in the Fort Smith TIMES RECORD on May 13, 2000. If you write to the Society for further information about a name, please include an SASE and remember that, like most local organizations, they are an all volunteer group and always a little short on time and money.
