Hello, Does anyone have access to the Sebastian County land and adoption records from 1898 to 1905? Thanks, April Alexander
Hello all, I am looking for information on the John Blackard family of Sebastian County, Arkansas. He was born March 31, 1818 and married Mary Anne Counce and after she passed away between 1866 and 1867 he married the widow of his brother Willoughby Blackard, Martha Jane Bourland Blackard. I am related to his son, John Riley Blackard, born Oct. 1845. He married (1) Mary S. Nelson, (2) Emma Boone May 9, 1895, (3) Mary Campbell Oct. 15, 1896 (4) F.J. Herrell Sept. 12, 1899, (5) Mary E. Kelley May 12, 1904. All of the marriages took place in Sebastian County, AR with the exception of the last which took place in Pittsburgh County, OK. John Riley had a daughter Lou Ollie Blackard born in 1898, and her mother is unknown up to this point. She was adopted by her aunt Lucinda (Blackard) and Amman Keffer around 1900. Any information on any of these people is greatly appreciated. Thanks, April Alexander

My uncle Joseph Angerer died in Charleston on 8 Dec 1904. I am wondering if there is a Catholic Church or cemetery there and if there are any records of that cemetery. How could I access them. Larry Dankesreiter Ft. Worth, Tx.
Looking for any information on John Walter and Rebecca Catherine Sutherland. John came to Sebastian Co Arkansas during the early 1850's. I don't believe John and Rebecca were married before he came to AR. I think she was already here and had become a widow 2 or 3 years before John met her. I also think she had 3 small children that also died before they married or shortly after. John was only in the Civil War for 2/3 months. They had 4 children: Robert Henry b.1856, Catherine Belle b.1858, Gideon Thurston b. 1860, and Mary Magnolia "Maggie" b 1863. Robert left Ar in 1779/1880, he went to Texas. Gideon married Sarah Mariah (Sally) Carter, they had 10 children. Belle married Charles Strong, they had 2 daughters. Maggie married John Morgan Little, they had 10 children. It has been stated that John came from Tn and that his parents names were James and Rebecca Sutherland. There is a family by that name listed on the 1850 census in Grainger Co., TN. (It was also stated the John came from VA.) Rebecca is believed to have been married before to a Lickens/Larkins. She is from SC. John was a Stone Mason, he died in Mena, AR while rocking a house he became sick and died. He is buried there in an unmarked grave. Rebecca is buried in Franklin Co., AR. The reason she was buried in another County from the one that she lived in is unknown. We think it's because her 3 children were buried there. Any information would be wonderful. Thanks, Teresa Sutherland Hammer ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
