Excuse the typo, should have been NOTE from List Manager. That's what I get for being in a hurry. I am trying to get ready to go to Providence for the NGS Conference and as usual left everything until last minute. I will be online while there if there are any problems. Jan D.
One more time folks.... Please put a specific subject line in your message. Re: AGS digest is not going to get you good results. It only takes a second to check and change BEFORE you hit that send key. Jan D.
duane Randall - if you know where your grandparents are buried, try vital records to get a death certificate for them - usually at the county where they died. That will list their parents names and their state where they were born - also you might try for a birth certificate maybe a delayed one - that would also give you some good info. And if you can get your hands on their social security numbers, you can find out lost of info that way by writing for a copy of the application - hope that helps
You might also try posting a request at http://www.headstonehunter.com/ This is a site that attempts to match volunteers with those seeking pictures of tombstones. >I am looking for someone who would be willing to go to the Anderson Flat >Cemetery and take a photo of the tombstones of my ggrandfather and >ggrandmother >for me. My father Everett Mcginley was born somewhere in Ark. in 1917 (?) . His father was Francis Marion McGinley and his mother was Pearly Mae Snyder. I want to know if there are other McGinleys related to me through this line. My e-mail address is helenwoolley@netscape.net Thanks for any information
Does anyone know how the enumeration information will look in terms of its format and form? Will it remotely resemble our "last reviewable census " (1920) in terms of how family information is written out? Will there be individual sheets/pages similar to the 1920 (and before) census? I am asking because I am an enumerator, and so far, no one has been able to tell me this. I really just want to know if my name will be shown as the person who actually captured the census information, which will make me a visible and lasting part of a great data gathering effort (that may disappear and no longer be done in this form again). Thanks for replies. cBRAGGS

Since there have been several queries for folks in Sebastian County recently, I thought that the List might like to know that THE JOURNAL published by the Fort Smith Historical Society publishes free queries. In fact, I'm the person in charge of preparing the queries for THE JOURNAL. If you have a Sebastian County query, you may send them to me at: JEddle3641@aol.com. For publication in the fall issue, queries need to reach me by June 1. Any received after that date will be held for the next issue. Jan Eddleman
Dear List-members, I screwed up. The microfilm census records are at the Butler Center on the third floor of the library of the Central Ark. Library System in the River Market District at the corner of Markham and Cantrell. This is not the Arkansas Library as I had thought. Jan
