Does anyone have any information on a cemetary located on either Sugar or Sugar Loaf Mountain outside of Fayetteville, Ark. My state maps don't show this location. Also, I am seeking any possible leads on families named McDaniels that once lived on that Mountain and also in Fayetteville. There is one more possibility for the same family in a town named lowal (sp?), Ark. According to spoken family history the records in Lowal (sp?) may have been destroyed in a fire in the courthouse. If that is the case and the date of the fire can be established it might be a workable lead also. Thanks for any information and / or suggestions.

I sent this earlier but have not seen it go to list. Sorry if it posts twice. Has anyone heard of Subscription School. My grandmother went to this kind of School. She said that you had to pay to go to this kind of school. Does any one have any information on this? Where they all over the state or is this something common for all the states. Marge Brown
Let us not get this discussion started on the list. Division of Vital Records. Any questions should be directed to Vital Records.. http://health.state.ar.us/index.html Thanks, Jan Davenport AGS List Manager Arkansas Statute 20-18-305 does not allow public release of birth records, which are less than 100 years old. The law does permit release to specific persons who are related to the registrant and to their designated representatives, to academic research groups, and to persons with a tangible interest. > For an overview of the holdings of the Arkansas History Commission & State > Archives visit their homepage at: > http://www.state.ar.us/ahc >
