Hi everyone. I could sure use some help with solving a mystery about my Uncle. It seems there has been some questions about what his name is. My mother, his older sister, says one thing, and I have found evidence in a family bible that supports the other story. His name, according to my mother, is Lawrence Eldorse STAGGS, but in an old family Bible that belonged to my great grandmother,it says that his name was Eldorse Lawrence. I would sure appreciate it if someone could do a lookup in an index that would help to clear this up. I would send for his birth certificate, but I understand that in Arkansas you have to be a either a child or parent of the one you're wanting the birth record on. The family begins with John Edward O'Quinn (b. 4/26/1858) in Lincoln County Tennessee. He was married to Hanna Lou Freeman. My records indicate that John died in Conway Arkansas on 9/30/1960, however Vital Records could not find any death certificate. My records also indicate that his wife, Hanna, died on April 2, 1942. Alexander Livingston married Sarah Hayes (previous married name) and they lived in Washington, Hempstead Co., AR where he was a blacksmith. He was my Gr-Gr Grandfather on my mother's side. He had children and she had children and then they had children. There were full brothers and sisters, half brothers and sisters and step brothers and sisters. Alexander's son Warren Livingston married Sarah's daughter Eliza A.J. Hayes in l868 in Hempstead Co. I am trying to find out what Sarah's maiden name was. Looking for William Jett Yount; married L. Darwin. Lived in Stover Springs, just outside of Hope. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Hi Wanda, Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have a lot of dates or information because I was raised most of my life by an Aunt on my Mother's side of the family. But here is what I know so far- my Father was named James Maynard Housman born Oct. 14, 1907 and died Mar. 13, 1958 he was buried in Joiner I think. His Mother was named Mittie Melinda Suggs born June 13, 1882 died June 13, 1952. She was married to William Housman ( no info on him) I was told she was part Indian but but I have no proof of that. Mittie and William had four children that I know of, my Father James Maynard, Sylvester (Vester) Housman (dob-3/13/09), Forest Housman (no info on him). Mittie (Dude) Housman (dob-12/23/20) all of these family members are dead and their children that were old enough to remember have also died, most of this information was given to me by a daughter of Vester's she got it from the family bible. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Joy
