I am searching for some ancestors who came from the UK to live in Northern Rhodesia about 1920-24. Ernest Cort Dunn was born in Blackburn, Lancs in 1895 to James Dunn and Clara Cort. He joined the Royal Engineers. It is possible that he married in NZ but I have no info just the christian name of his wife which was Doreen Isabel. They had a son Michael born 1925 Mazabuka, Southern Zambia and he was Baptised in Cape Town in 1926. I believe that Ernest and Doreen moved to Broken Hill (Kabwe) and this may be where Ernest died. I would love to hear from anyone who might have known any of the family members above. Regards Harriet

Please will SKS tell me how it may be possible to obtain a Death Notice, or any information regarding my Grandfather, William Calder, who died in Francistown in 1906. At present the only information I have is the date of his birth and death. Very sad. I would be exceedingly grateful for any help. Janet
I have a family history collection of a TAYLOR family of Paisley, Scotland, some of whom migrated to Canada around 1840. Others of the family went to USA and some to Bechuanaland. The collection which I have contains a fair amount of genealogical connections but most interestingly, has also a collection of letters which were passed between the various "cousins" in Scotland, Canada, USA and Bechuanaland over the years describing their voyages, their lives as settlers, etc. The Bechuanaland connection consisted of Alexander TAYLOR (1839 - ?) and Margaret Campbell (1840-1913) who went to Africa in 1879. They had children - H.C. (Harry) TAYLOR (m. Mary Ann Clark), Madge TAYLOR, Alex. TAYLOR, Mary TAYLOR (m.Thos Atkinson), Jean TAYLOR (m. Fred Hurden), Jessie TAYLOR (m. Alfred Cousins), Alfred TAYLOR (m. Alidia Hemming), Gordon TAYLOR, David TAYLOR, Jane TAYLOR, John TAYLOR. I have some info about descendents plus connections to earlier family members and "cousins" in Canada, etc. In addition, there are a few letters from H.C.TAYLOR, Hettie and Jessie TAYLOR to cousins in Canada and USA. over the years. I am interesting in sharing this material with anyone who is connected to these people. Barry Reilly

Hi, I hope there are some members in this list. It seems a bit quiet. I am researching the van Staden family. I am looking for information on Jacobus Frederick van Staden b. 22 Nov 1931 in Maun. Is there an address to request a birth certificate. Also looking for Maria Catharina Burger b. 1910-2 Rustenburg or Zeerust d. 1933 x Stephanus Hendrick van Staden. Once again maybe an address to request a death certificate. If there is anyone out there, even if you can't help me, could you please acknowledge this message. I feel silly talking to myself. Thanks Regards Leon
