    1. MD/OH ADRIANs...Help?
    2. Jodi
    3. To anyone researching the lines of Jacob ADRIAN and Keturah COLE of Maryland, later of Jefferson Cty., OH -- I could really use some clues and guidance. Please excuse the long post. I'm confident that my husband's Illinois lines come through the same family, but I'm a little overwhelmed on where to look next. I have John ADRIAN (b. bet. 1822-1826 in OH) married Oct. 1852 in Coshocton Cty., OH, to Elizabeth TIPTON (b. bet. 1828-1832 in OH). The family moves along to Shelby Cty., IL, around 1870, then to Coles County, though I lose track of these parents at that point -- no death or burial records for them yet. An older Elizabeth TIPTON, born in MD, is on the IL census with them (probably Elizabeth Tipton Adrian's mother). Kids were James Willard, Mary E., George W., Mordica Melville, and maybe a Katie if she wasn't the same as Mary E...which looks likely from the dates. I'm doing well following these kids and can share with anyone interested. In the surrounding county of Christian Cty., IL, is Mordecai ADRIAN (b. April 1834) and wife Malinda. It seems to be the same couple as Mordecai ADRIAN and Malinda LITTICK marr. 2/26/1857 in Muskingum, OH...right next to Coshocton. The names and places parallel those of the descendants of Jacob and Keturah. Even the dates are close -- another John Adrian marrying Elizabeth Rainey in OH in 1852...another Mordecai Adrian born a month earlier than this one in OH. And other TIPTONs marrying ADRIANs. All I know about Jacob and Keturah is what I've been able to find on-line since I'm still missing a generation in between. But, if others are right in their research and there is a connection, my husband's John ADRIAN would have to be a son of Honour (1790), John (1792), Mordecai (1796), Jacob Jr. (1804) or Joseph Lemmon (1807). Don't quote those birth years...that's someone else's data! So, my big quest is to confirm where each of these sons ended up, track them on the census, find out when they married and died and get their estate records, etc. -- with the hope that the right John or his children will be mentioned along the way. So I'm putting out the plea...if you know anything about any of them that could help or save me a wild chase, I would be very grateful. Jodi [email protected]
