Would be between 45-50 give or take either way. Born ? Mother? Mother and Virgil both worked at Sundstrands in Rockford, Illinois. This young tried to contact his birth father several years ago in Florida. He was not kindly received. We would like an opportunity to make the young man that he has more family and would be kindlier received. If he wishes to know anything about his father Virgil Wayne Adrian, we think he should be able to do so. He does have half brothers and a sister. He also has several aunts, cousins, and uncles. Virgil Wayne died near the beginning of 2001. We feel you have a right to know about your father. Contact me at the address above. \ Your aunt.

I first found mention of him in the Montana Genweb site, where he is listed as being granted homestead land in McCone County, Montana, 320 acres, in August 1913. I then found him and his family on the 1920 and 1930 census for McCone County Montana, School District 7, along with his wife Minnie (Motley) and their four children James, Mildred, Lloyd, and Bulah. Both censuses show him to have been born in Minnesota, with parents being born in Canada. Minnie, his wife, was from Virginia and is a distant cousin of mine. I found a Robert Adrain on the Soc.Security Death Index who died in 1982, apparently at age 100, last address McCone County Montana. I also find a Minnie Adrain, birthdate is correct at 12/25/1886, also died in 1982, but living in Ravalli county Montana. Any information on this family is much appreciated.

John David was from the Alsace Region near the French/German border that bounced back and forth in ownership between the two contries. We have corresponded with an Adrian from near Nancy, France in that region. The Adrians have always considered themselves German.. thus the many "German" first and middle names in the lineage. Thanks for joining the group.

Surnames: Adrian, Osborne, Osborn Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mJ.2ADEB/91.5.1 Message Board Post: Ginah- I'm a descendant of John Adrian (b.1792), one of Jacob's sons. John died sometime in the 1860s, presumably in Crawford County. I know that John is Jacob's son because he gives his birthplace in the 1860 census as MD, and his birthdate coincides with a known son of Jacob's named John. Also, John got his land patent in Wooster for a farm in Crawford County on the same day that Mordecai Adrian, another son of Jacob's, got his land patent in Wooster for a farm in Jefferson County. My connection is through John's daughter, Mary, who married James Osborne in Crawford County, OH on 22 December 1859. It seemed to me from what you wrote about Jacob that you might have some information about the family that I haven't come across yet. I'm especially looking for anything on John's marriage to his wife Sarah. I don't know Sarah's surname, but I suspect that they were married in Baltimore. Any help would be appreciated! My last name Adrian is believed to be of German/Danish Origin from talking to family members. I am somewhat familiar with Danish surnames but not totally. I know that in the nordic countries, Adrian is a common and typical first name, I was wondering,.. is it possible that Adriansen or some variant dropped the suffix and became just Adrian through the generations of changes and immigration? This seems somewhat logical in some senses. Tell me what you think and any information would be helpful. Thank you Heather

Would your Grandmother be Claudes mother? If so, I believe I may have met her at one of our Mother's Club Dinners last year. It is such a small world! Yes, when you get a chance, like to meet you. It sounds like you are keeping busy with school. Did you go back for a degree? My son plays baseball with Cindy Shaw (no relation) and I think she is also going to Washington State, she lives in Chesterhill too, thought maybe you might know each other. Congradulations on your Graduation! Thank you for all the information! Ginah Shaw

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, having trouble with our dial-up server. I just live a few miles from Chesterhill, and yes the Newburns you know are the niece and nephew of Mary Newburn Adrian. I know that on my list that she made it notes that Lida Shook was one of John and Elizabeth Rainey Adrian's daughters? But she also noted that there was another daughter Lizzie, I think it reads. I wondered if that were a nickname or possibly a typing error. It names Joesphine, Adaline, Lida,Milton, Jim, Lizzie , Joe, Fred, and Retta. I don't know if this matches anything you may have, thought to pass it along in case you may know of any others or any errors.I wish I had dates of births or deaths, but they just listed the parents and how many children they knew or could recall. Just starting out and hoping to find all the missing links! Thanks for your help. Would you still have any relatives in Chesterhill? I know of Wreatha Shook that works at the bank in Chestehill, we are in the same Mother's Club together. Thanks again! Ginah
