The name he used was Sergei Verne Adrian. (b) 1912. He said that he joined the circus and we have pictures of riding while standing on the backs of horses while juggling. His father may have been known as Frenchy. He had at least one sister maybe around Chicago. He always said he was born in Des Moines, IA but we are skeptical of that. He looked eastern European, Hungarian maybe. He had a first wife named Marguerite Adrian. He divorced her about 1943 in Chicago. After the circus age 14 /- he moved in with a man and his wife Bill Olsen or Olson in Chicago. The Olsons later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico around the 1950's as he had moved there also.. I have two problems with my Sarah Adrian (sometimes listed in family trees as Edgeroin, but it is not her name). She was supposedly born 23 July 1794 in Baltimore to Jacob Adrain and Keturah Cole, who were supposedly married 15 May 1790 in the Baltimore area. I need to verify the marriage date of Keturah Cole and Jacob Adrian and the birthdate for Sarah and her connection to her parents. We have a copy of her marriage records to John Conrad Hesser in 1809 in Jefferson County, OH. Even though I do not have a marriage record for Jacob and Keturah, I do have her mentioned in her mother's will as Keturah Adrian. That will was filed in Jefferson County, OH in 1826. I would appreciate any help with this line. Judith K. Arthur Maylene, AL
Hi List, Diane list admin here. Would you like to find your family in the new year, if so, just post what you need to know here and I am sure that the other listers would love to help you find them. All for now. Diane
Since there are not many Adrian families, the only ones I know of are from Maryland and went into Ohio. My Sarah Adrian, b. in 1794 in Baltimore, was married to John Conrad Hesser in 1809 in Jefferson County, OH. There were other Adrians who lived in Baltimore. My Sarah's father was Jacob Adrian, but earlier in his life, he was Jacob Sedgwick. He had brothers named Mathias, George and Christian. Since their mother was named Sarah Adrian, perhaps they also named a daughter, Sarah. If you want more information on this family, let me know. I have a record of a court case that resulted in the brothers changing their name from Sedgwick to Adrian. Their grandfather was Christian Adrian. Judith K.
