Thought I'd stir the pot on Hugh Adrain and Elizabeth Engard. I propose that Hugh and Mary Adrain wife of George Harrington of Belfast and after his death wife of Henry Cowden are brother and sister (not proven at this time). I propose this because they live in close proximity in the Belmont area of Loudoun County. If this is true then according to published death records on Mary (Adrain) Cowden her parents are listed as James E. and E. Adrain. She died 9/5/1864 in Loudoun County at the age of 64. In 1846 he m. Anna Frey dau of Peter Frey and Ann Sommerfeld. They immigrated to the US aboard the SS Nederland, arriving in Philadelphia in Jul 1875. The family may have lived briefly in Minnesota before settling in Silver Lake in Hutchinson Co., Dakota Territory where Peter and his sons are listed in the 1880 census. Peter and Anna had 11 children born between 1848 and 1871: Anna 1848, Peter 1850, Helena 1852, Heinrich 1854, Jacob 1857, Sarah 1859, John 1860, Elizabeth 1863, Johan 1865, Benjamin 1868 and Isaac 1871. I believe that shortly after Anna Frey Adrian died in Jan of 1880, Peter married my gggrandmother, Susanna Kroeker Kopp/Koop in South Dakota. I would like to hear from descendants of Peter's who may have information on this marriage. I also have quite a bit of information on this Adrian family that I would be happy to share. Anyway, I am the oldest of all 11 children, I was born in 1953 and then Dad seemed to have a child every 1.5 years. Amazing to say the least. My Great Uncle Ivan said that when "they" arrived in the United States they had a suitcase full of money. I have never seen Lisette's name spelled like that. There is a marked difference in the way the Adrians and Erdelbrocks dressed compared to the way my dad's family dressed in those old photos and I felt that they had money. I live in Missouri about 100 miles south of Kansas City and have wanted to get to Lawrence during the week when the courthouse and libraries are open but have not had a chance to get there. Peggy

The Olivia ADRIAN about which I originally inquired married Frederick GOWDER in Franklin County GA on 29 January 1813. They later moved to HALL county where they lived the rest of their lives. Married to Rachel Fleming (unknown bdate/ddate). They had 6 kids. David Wilber Adrian John German A. Mary Adrian Robert DeKalb A. William Harvey A. Fleming Fowler Adrian, Sr. (b.abt 1787) I only have family children information for Fleming Fowler A. for David Wilber Adrian (David Wilber was my line).
