Oct. 27, 1926 in Scott Co., VA and Malvina Dean. James Lemuel Burke was the 3rd child of Samuel Letcher Burk, b. c1829 in Russell Co., VA; died Sept. 18, 1889 and Nancy Johnson. Samuel Letcher Burk was the 3rd child of Fleming Burk, Jr., b. c1802 in Russell Co., VA; died after 1870-1871 and Nancy Jessee. Fleming Burk, Jr. was the 6th child of Fleming Burk, Sr., b. Nov. 29, 1767 Caroline Co., VA; died Feb. 23, 1848 in Russell Co., VA buried in Burk Cem. near Elk Garden and Rebecca (Bush) Miller. Fleming Burk, Sr. was the 4th child of Thomas Burk, Sr., b. c1731 in Caroline Co., VA; died after 1812 in Franklin Co., GA and Ann George (another family with a long line in VA). Thomas Burk, Sr. was the 6th child of Henry Burk, b. c1698 in Middlesex Co., VA; d. 1777 in Caroline Co., VA and Judith (Clark) Trigg.
