I have seen quite a few who were "deaf and dumb", and wondered if there was a genetic link. My great-grandmother was Gertrude Celina Adkins, whose father was Benjamin Adkins. He had several cousins who were deaf, all of whom lived in the same general area. Looking at the records of the Kentucky School for the Deaf over a 100-year period, I see MANY Adkins. I am sure there are deaf descendants today. I am wondering if there is anyone out there with a deaf Adkins in the family tree. Thanks!
