Buried in Liberty Cem. He married Matilda Chitham b. 18 July 1836 and died 26 Feb 1895. Father was Edmund Howerton b. ca 1795 in "old VA" (1870 census of Dallas County, MO.; mother was Mary Oliver. Grief's son, James Newton Howerton married (2nd) my aunt, Delila Josephine Sweaney. They had three daughters.
