I grew up with my mother (who is now over 70) telling me that we were Cherokee. I haven't been able to confirm this yet, although there are some Adkins on the Dawes and Miller rolls. There was alot going on in Oklahoma at the time that the 40 families (mostly Adkins, and relatives of Adkins) rented a train about 1905 and headed to Oklahoma.
