John ADKINS is buried in Park Cemetery Four O.P.C., in Hancock Co IN. His death is listed as 26 Feb. 1886; age 56. He was in Civil War, Co. K 1 Heavy , US Army. He death is not recorded in Hancock Co IN. clerk's office. Does anyone know anything about the above John ADKINS...wife? parents? residence? I will send to NARA for his pension records, assuming that he received one. In the meantime, am hoping someone may have a suggestion as to where I may find where there may be some data related to him. There was a John ADKINS and wife, Elizabeth, who conveyed to Thomas Walpole, 80 acres of land in N. half of SE quarter of Sect. 21, 16 N. of Range 6 E., Buck Crk Twp., Hancock Co IN. This occurred 6 Apr 1854. I am wondering whether this is the same John ADKINS who is buried in Park Cemetery. I am also interested in the maiden name of Elizabeth ADKINS. I would appreciate any and all suggestions Virgene in northwest Indiana
