I will look and post another reply when I find it. It was in Tennessee, I assume while they were on their way to Kentucky. Luckily my ancestor, Benjamin Adkins Sr, lived, but in later life there was a fight over his will,by Wasington Young, who used the excuse " in his lifetime had been much afflicted by a wound he had received in his head by Indians many years before his death, by reason of which his mind was greatly impaired and indeed, was much deranged." Since Mr Young was seeking some of the great wealth Mr. Adkins, one of the first settlers in Kentucky had amassed in his "deranged state"with his mill on Little South River, no wonder the suit lost. I found that on worldconnect. rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op= GET&db=adkbase&id=1392 It may be that my original info is at my mom's, in her written family accounts of the travels west. I can't find it here.
