Surnames: Adkins/Atkins or any variation Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AJ.2ADIB/2547 Message Board Post: I would like to urge males who carry the Adkins name (or any variation) and have a direct male line of Adkins back to your earliest male ancestor to have a DNA test. You can do this at familytreedna.com or there are other companies who do this too. If you know your line back a long way you may think this is unnecessary but consider those of us who don't have such a long line. You may find some new relatives and we may knock down that brick wall we have been trying to overcome. There will probably be others who will be glad to share some of the cost with you. I have 2 Adkins lines and have found several people who match both of them, but like me, we just know we are related but not how. Those of you who have more complete information could help and you might find some people you are proud to call relatives.
