Martha was dau. of John Ward (1766-1846) & Thodocia Anderson (1768-1854) John Ward "Served as private in Captain Parson's company, Col. George Baylor's regiment, Virginia Contintental Line Line from summer 1781 to Fall 1783. (3rd Continental Dragoons.)" Elizabeth King Adkins (abt 1841-1923) m. John Quincy Adams Carr (abt. 1841-1923.) I no info on Martha or John W. There is a Carr Family website, or one maintained by a Carrr, but I forget the url.
