Adkins WARREN, Ohio - Herbert Mitchell ADKINS, 67, of Horizon Village Nursing Home, and formerly of Second Street in Niles, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in the nursing home. He was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Moorehead, Ky., a son of Bannie and Lula Thornsberry Adkins. Mr. Adkins attended Niles High School, worked on the Alaskin Pipeline, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His wife, Mary Holbrook Adkins, whom he married Dec. 8, 1953, died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Mitchell of Niles, two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Petricini of Warren and Mrs. Rosie O'Rouke of Coral Springs, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Five brothers, Ross, Donald, Albert, Robert and Brascue; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sapp and Mrs. Ada Foster, are deceased. The funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lane Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery. Published on August 17, 2000
