I have notes that he stated he was born in Franklin Co., Va and that his father's name was William. I am still searching for the source of that information. He remarried in Wise County, VA to Sarah Bowman Vance, but does not list his parents name, so it wasn't from that source. I also have notes that I received in the late 1970s from an Adkins researcher who stated that Henry's parents were William Adkins who married Ann Standley/Stanley. I have been in contact with a Stanley researcher who had in her records that Ann Standley married a Mr. Adkins in Franklin Co., VA., but she did not have the first name.
